Pineapple
Fruit
What do you get when you cross an apple and a Christmas tree?
A Pine-apple!
When European explorers first discovered this fruit in the Americas, they thought it looked awfully similar to a pine cone. This visual similarity led the explorers to name the fruit “Pineapple”. Pineapples are native to South America, and are believed to have originated near Paraguay and Southern Brazil. The Pineapple fruit is sweet and very juicy, and does well in a variety of desserts and beverages.
