Blueberry
Fruit
What do you call a sad strawberry?
A Blueberry!
Okay, now that we’ve got that one out of the way…
Blueberries are native to North America, and are specifically cultivated in the eastern and north central parts of the continent. The state of Washington is the largest producer of cultivated Blueberries, though New Jersey is the self-proclaimed “Blueberry Capital of the World”. These tart, sweet berries are a staple in many diets, and it’s not hard to figure out why… They’re very tasty!
Did you know?
- Native Americans once called Blueberries “Star Berries”, because of the star-shape the blossoms make.
- April 28th is National Blueberry Pie Day, and July 11th is National Blueberry Muffin Day!
